Al-Sudani, U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Enhancing Cooperation

Baghdad / NINA /-Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani discussed on Sunday with the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires to Iraq, Joshua Harris, bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop joint cooperation.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting also reviewed regional and international developments, stressing the importance of joint coordination to address current challenges in a manner that contributes to strengthening security and stability in the region.

Al-Sudani affirmed that Iraqi–U.S. relations are witnessing continuous development and progress, underpinned by mutual keenness to further advance cooperation across various fields and sectors, in a way that serves the shared interests and mutual benefits of both countries.

He highlighted the importance of continuing efforts and building on the achievements made in economic, trade, and investment cooperation, in light of the memoranda of understanding and joint agreements, to support Iraq’s development and service pathways.

For his part, the U.S. Chargé d’Affaires congratulated Iraq on the conclusion of the United Nations mission’s mandate, noting that this reflects the country’s entry into a new phase of stability, prosperity, and development.
