Students' Patriotism in Afforestation and Forest Conservation

 Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- Students of universities and colleges across the DPRK have devoted their pure conscience and sincere efforts to afforestation and forest conservation this year, too.
Kanggye University of Technology, Sariwon University of Geology, Wonsan University of Fisheries and many other universities were awarded the title of Socialist Patriotic Forest this year through proper afforestation and conservation and management.
Students of Sunchon College of Technology, Wonsan University of Medicine and Chongjin University of Medicine planted pine-nut trees, Larix lepolepis and bamboo willow trees by introducing scientific tree-planting methods suited to the soil conditions in relevant areas.
Samjiyon Tourism College and Songdo University of Education built tree nurseries by themselves and cultivated saplings tenaciously while applying advanced cultivation methods.
Sinuiju University of Medicine and Sariwon Kye Ung Sang University of Agriculture properly selected the species of trees and set the number of trees per hectare and, on the basis of this, carried out tree-plantings as required by technical requirements to boost the rate of rooting of saplings.
Youth league organizations of Kanggye Teachers Training College and Kanggye Commercial Service College have made successes in protecting forests from forest fires and harmful insects. -0-
