The crime rate in Bahrain has declined to unprecedented levels, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Kingdom’s security and stability system. This achievement reflects the implementation of the security strategy led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, which is guided by the principle of community partnership.
During 2025, the Ministry of Interior was consistently engaged in all regional and international security cooperation. It actively took part in the joint international operation led by the International Security Alliance (ISA), targeting traffickers of narcotics and psychotropic substances. The Ministry of the Interior also participated in numerous joint exercises and in the exchange of information and expertise. This involves expanding the use of modern technologies, artificial intelligence applications, and technological innovations to combat organised crime.
This presence in international security cooperation has been made possible by a security approach rooted in community partnership, alongside the Ministry’s continuous development and modernisation strategy, key aspects of which are outlined below.
Advanced security performance, along with efficient and accurate services, has become a defining feature of the Ministry’s work system. As a result, several directorates were awarded gold and platinum ratings in the fifth Government Service Centres Evaluation Programme.
