IDWS Concludes, Deals Support Advanced Technologies, Water System Development

Jeddah, December 11, 2025, SPA -- The Innovation Driven Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS 2025) concluded in Jeddah with the signing of several specialized agreements supporting advanced technologies, research, and innovation in the water sector as part of efforts to develop the system and improve service efficiency.
On the third and final day, the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) signed five agreements. These included cooperation with Taibah Valley, an affiliate of Taibah University, in technology and digital transformation; an agreement with Yokogawa to develop AI-based leak detection methods; a deal with Meidensha Corporation to advance ceramic membrane technologies for primary water treatment; a collaboration with Najran University to develop photocatalysts for emerging pollutant treatment; and a training agreement with GI Aqua Tech for specialized programs.
During the first days of the IDWS 2025 conference, several agreements were signed in the fields of education and training, service management, advanced technologies, innovation, entrepreneurship, and operational sustainability, with participation from government and private entities as well as international companies.
Over the three-day conference, 27 cooperation agreements were signed across five main areas: advanced technologies, capacity development, innovation and entrepreneurship, service efficiency, and research and development collaboration.
The deals reflect a strong commitment to advancing the water sector and ensuring the sustainability of its services.
