Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan to increase trade turnover, launch joint projects

Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2025. /Kabar/. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Products Bakyt Torobaev met with Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov.

During the talks, they discuss increasing mutual agricultural trade, developing processing, veterinary and phytosanitary cooperation, and introducing modern agricultural technologies.

The Kyrgyz delegation also visited the Baku Shipyard, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, and the Trade House of Kyrgyzstan in Baku.

At the Baku Shipyard, the delegation was briefed on the company's capabilities in building ferries and other vessels, including those for servicing the Trans-Caspian Corridor. Prospects for cooperation with the Kyrgyz side in shipbuilding and the operation of ferries for transport and logistics purposes were discussed.

At the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, the Kyrgyz delegation reviewed the implementation of oil refining modernization and enhancement projects and discussed potential cooperation in the supply of petroleum products and the exchange of experience in improving energy efficiency and environmental standards.

During a tour of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House in Baku, its important role in promoting Kyrgyz products in the Azerbaijani market and expanding contacts between entrepreneurs from the two countries was noted. The need to expand the product range and intensify joint business initiatives was emphasized.

The parties reaffirmed their commitment to enriching their strategic partnership with concrete projects in agriculture, transport, energy, and trade.

During the visit, the delegation also paid tribute to the memory of Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev and his wife, Zarifa Aliyeva.
