Kyrgyzstan, Japan to strengthen cooperation in forensic science

Bishkek, Dec. 10, 2025. /Kabar/. Japanese delegation, represented by Professor Oku Daiki of the International Cooperation Division of the Legal Research Institute of the Japanese Ministry of Justice and Takahashi Shogo, Chief Expert of the International Cooperation Division of the Legal Research Institute, visited the Forensic Science Service.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the visit took place as part of the Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Justice of the two countries and the preparation of the "Second Joint Study on the Legal Systems of Japan and the Kyrgyz Republic."
During the meeting, the parties focused on the prospects for developing cooperation in forensic science, including the exchange of experience, the implementation of modern technologies, and the advanced training of specialists.
Forensic Science Service Chairman Talantbek Kozhanov noted that expanding international cooperation is one of the service's strategic priorities.
In turn, Oku Daiki emphasized the Japanese side's readiness to begin joint research and develop practical projects in a number of priority areas in the near future.
Following the official part of the visit, the guests were shown the work of the Forensic Service's departments. The delegation was introduced to the wide range of research conducted and the capabilities of the forensic departments.
