Interior Minister receives Azerbaijani Chief of State Border Service

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA):  General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Colonel General Elchin Guliyev, Chief of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Lieutenant General Tariq Hasan Al Hasan, Chief of Public Security, was present.

Gen. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah noted the commitment of both sides to strengthening cooperation and exchanging expertise to address security risks and challenges.  He highlighted that Bahrain’s experience in developing its border-control systems is based on employing modern technologies to manage the movement of travellers and goods, ensuring an optimal balance between efficient procedures and maintaining the highest standards of safety and security.

The minister highlighted the importance of enhancing partnership and integration among national, regional, and international institutions in the exchange of information and expertise.

The meeting reviewed topics that enhance security cooperation and expand avenues for coordination in a way that serves the interests of both countries.
