Deputy Prime Minister receives GCC officials participating in Mara’ee 2025

Manama, Dec. 9 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, received senior officials from GCC countries participating in the Bahrain International Show (Mara’ee 2025).
Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs; Dr. Saud bin Humood Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources of the Sultanate of Oman; Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Executive Director of the International Date Council; and senior officials from GCC countries in the municipal, plant, animal, and food diversity sectors were present.
The Deputy Prime Minister affirmed Bahrain’s commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance GCC integration in food security, in line with the shared developmental visions of the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, and the peoples of the region.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah noted that the current stage witnesses significant momentum in cooperation and coordination among GCC countries to develop a more sustainable and capable regional food system, based on innovation, efficient management of natural resources, and the expansion of interregional and international partnerships.
The Deputy Prime Minister commended the officials' role in Mara’ee, which is considered one of the Kingdom’s pioneering national initiatives, highlighting Bahrain’s efforts to develop agricultural and livestock production and contribute to supporting the food security system at both national and GCC levels.
Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah highlighted the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture in organising the exhibition in a way that reflects Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing public-private partnership in agricultural and livestock sectors, and supporting projects that stimulate investment. He emphasised the importance of creating an enabling environment for knowledge exchange, opening new horizons for contributions aimed at diversifying production sources and improving the efficiency of food supply chains, wishing all involved success.
The officials commended Bahrain’s support for initiatives that enhance GCC food security, its attention to agricultural and livestock development in the region, and its efforts to advance cooperation, wishing the Kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
