Bahrain participates in 6th UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Judicial Summit

Hong Kong, Dec. 9 (BNA): A Bahraini judicial delegation participated in the 6th UNCITRAL Asia Pacific Judicial Summit in Hong Kong, joining senior judges and legal experts from across the region and beyond.
Bahrain was represented by Dr. Riyadh Mohammed Seyadi, Director of the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, and Zain Al Asfoor, High Civil Court Judge.
The event, organised by the UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific in cooperation with the Hong Kong Academy of Law, is one of the key international forums discussing the future of judicial systems and cross-border commercial law.
This year’s conference focused on the growing shift towards digital justice and digital trade, with sessions addressing electronic trade finance, digital documentation, developments in maritime transport, and evolving dispute-resolution practices in the digital economy.
Dr. Seyadi delivered a presentation on the interaction between the judiciary and alternative dispute resolution, highlighting Bahrain’s progress in aligning its legislative and judicial frameworks with UNCITRAL standards. He highlighted Bahrain’s experience in supporting arbitration at all stages and its contribution to building confidence in the Kingdom’s legal and investment environment.
He also pointed to notable Court of Cassation rulings recognised internationally, which have strengthened Bahrain’s reputation as a regional model in arbitration.
Conference organisers commended Bahrain’s contribution, noting the value of sharing advanced national experiences that support digital transformation and modernise dispute-resolution systems globally.
