6th meeting of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission held in Baku

Bishkek, Dec. 9, 2025. /Kabar/. The 6th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan was held in Baku, the Iinformation policy service of the presidential administration of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the information policy service, the Kyrgyz delegation was led by Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Samir Sharifov.

The parties emphasized the importance of timely completion of the tasks and goals previously set by the heads of state and noted their mutual interest in further strengthening the strategic partnership and expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport and logistics, energy, industrial, agricultural, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Particular attention was paid to increasing mutual trade turnover and diversifying the bilateral trade structure. The parties agreed to intensify contacts between their business communities, expand direct supplies of agricultural and industrial products, develop cooperation in raw material processing, and jointly enter third-country markets.

The key role of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund as the main financial instrument for supporting joint projects was noted. The parties supported the further expansion of the fund's capital and the implementation of the first phase of projects in energy, housing construction, light industry, and healthcare. The agreement was also reached to take measures to form a new project portfolio in energy, industry, infrastructure, and small and medium-sized businesses. In the transport and logistics sector, plans to unlock the transit potential of the two countries were comprehensively reviewed, including the development of multimodal routes and logistics infrastructure to ensure fast and efficient cargo delivery channels between Central Asia, the Caucasus, and other regions.

In the humanitarian sphere, the parties agreed to expand cooperation between research centers at universities, support academic exchanges, implement joint cultural events and youth programs, and promote the development of tourism projects. The symbolic role of recreational facilities and memorial complexes, reflecting the shared historical and spiritual values ​​of the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, was particularly noted.

Following the meeting, the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission signed the protocol of the 6th meeting.

In conclusion, the parties expressed confidence that the agreements reached would provide a solid foundation for the preparation of upcoming high-level events and would elevate Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani relations to a new, higher level.
