Thai Soldier Killed As Border Clashes Rage in Surin

SURIN, Dec 9 (TNA) - Fighting between Thai and Cambodian forces intensified heavily on Tuesday, resulting in the death of one Thai soldier and the injury of another in Thailand's Surin province.
The casualty occurred during severe exchanges at the Ta Khwai temple battleground.
According to the Second Army Area Command, Cambodia used multi-barrel BM-21 rocket fire and reportedly deployed bomb-dropping and "kamikaze" drones against Thai positions in sectors like Ta Khwai and Phu Makhuea, aiming to seize key areas, though Thai forces maintained control of major strongholds.
Thai forces are retaliating under rules of engagement (ROE) to neutralize the threat and protect border communities.

The thunderous blasts were heard across a wide area, prompting local authorities to urge all remaining civilians and security guards to remain in underground bunkers.
Despite the intensity of the clash, which involves heavy weapons, civilian life continues normally in non-alert zones, with officials holding off on further mass evacuation orders. -819 (TNA)
