Kyrgyzstan opens new areas for investment and partnership for Korean business
Bishkek, Dec. 4, 2025. /Kabar/. Korea-Central Asia Economic Cooperation Platform 2025 business forum is taking place in Bishkek.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, Korean entrepreneurs who arrived in Kyrgyzstan were presented with the country's investment opportunities.
Damirbek Bikulov, Deputy Director of the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, noted in his speech that by the end of 2024, trade turnover between the two countries amounted to more than $435 million.
"This year, we expect these figures to grow by more than 30% compared to last year's level. During the official visit of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Korea last December, 22 bilateral documents aimed at developing Kyrgyz-Korean cooperation were signed. We highly value Korea's high-tech expertise in various economic sectors and express our openness to mutually beneficial cooperation," he said.
Urmat Takirov, Director of the Kyrgyz Export Center, emphasized Kyrgyzstan's advantageous geographic location and noted the country's extensive representation in international organizations.
He also provided information on doing business in the country: establishing legal entities, tax regulations, the specifics of the banking sector, and the opportunities offered by free economic zones. He also highlighted priority investment areas such as agriculture, hydropower, tourism, light industry, and e-commerce.
"Today, favorable conditions have been created for opening businesses and joint ventures." "The import of equipment for in-house production will be exempt from VAT, provided that this equipment is not resold. We, in turn, are ready to provide analytical and consulting support and help you enter foreign markets," Takirov noted.
The ministry noted that this event is the result of a memorandum signed between the Kyrgyz Export Center and KOTRA during President Sadyr Zhaparov's official visit to Korea in 2024.
The second day of the business forum will take place on December 5 at 10:00 AM at the Dordoi Plaza shopping center. A Korean-Central Asian integrated promotional exhibition of consumer goods will be held there. Korean products will be presented to a general audience and professional buyers, with the opportunity to sell samples and directly communicate with manufacturers.
