HM King receives HE President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic

Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, at Al Sakhir Palace during her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain to attend the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council Summit as a Guest of Honour.

His Majesty the King welcomed HE the Italian Council of Ministers President and thanked Her Excellency for accepting the invitation to attend the summit, noting that the participation reflects the longstanding ties between Bahrain and Italy.  

His Majesty the King commended the strong Bahrain–Italy relations, noting the ongoing interest in supporting their development across various sectors. His Majesty also commended the constructive efforts of Her Excellency in the advancement of bilateral ties and expressed appreciation for Italy’s important contribution to international peace and security.

The meeting discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest.

On her part, HE Giorgia Meloni expressed thanks and gratitude to HM the King for the invitation to visit the Kingdom to attend the GCC Summit and to meet with His Majesty and the leaders of the GCC states. Her Excellency praised His Majesty’s role and commitment in enhancing the longstanding relations and advancing cooperation between the two countries for the benefit and prosperity of their peoples.

HM the King later hosted a dinner in honour of HE the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic and the accompanying delegation.
