Youth and Students in DPRK Start Expedition of Mt Paektu Area
Pyongyang, December 2 (KCNA) -- Young vanguard from across the DPRK began their expedition of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu, flying the flag of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League (SPYL).
A kick-off meeting took place at the plaza before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in Hyesan City of Ryanggang Province on December 1.
Present there were Kang Sin Chang, secretary of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and members of the expedition.
The participants laid a flower basket and bouquets before the statues of the great leaders and paid tribute to them.
Pak Myong Jin, vice-chairman of the SPYL Central Committee, made a report at the meeting to be followed by speeches.
The reporter and speakers referred to the fact that the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un led a horseback march to leave immortal traces in the sacred Mt Paektu area, fiercely kindled the flames of arming all the people across the country with the revolutionary spirit, and called the youth and students to the battle sites of Mt Paektu.
They called upon all the members of the expedition to fully demonstrate the might of patriotic youth in the on-going general advance for ushering in a period of the comprehensive prosperity of Korean-style socialism, remaining loyal to the ideology and leadership of Kim Jong Un by firmly carrying forward the tradition of loyalty and the baton of patriotism handed over by the pioneering generations of the revolution.
At the end of the meeting, the members of the expedition left for the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site. -0-
