The President Discusses With The French Ambassador The Latest Regional And Int’l Developments

Baghdad / NINA /- President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met on Tuesday with the Ambassador of the French Republic to Iraq, Patrick Durel, to discuss recent regional and international developments.

In a statement, the Presidency confirmed that “the President received Ambassador Durel at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, where the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation across various fields in a manner that contributes to strengthening the bilateral relations between the two countries.”

The statement added that “the meeting included a review of the latest regional and international developments, as well as discussions on mechanisms to boost coordination between Iraq and France on issues of mutual interest, particularly efforts aimed at promoting stability and reducing tensions in the region.” The President also commended France’s supportive stance toward the Palestinian cause.

Ambassador Durel extended his condolences to the President on the passing of his late brother, Shamal Jamal Rashid. President Rashid expressed his gratitude for the ambassador’s kind gesture and asked him to convey his greetings to President Emmanuel Macron, along with his best wishes for continued progress and prosperity to the friendly French people./ End
