Saudi Arabia Wins Bronze at the International Junior Science Olympiad 2025

   Sochi, December 1, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi Science Team won a bronze medal at the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO 2025) in its 22nd edition, held in Sochi, Russia, from November 23 to December 2.
   Student Layan Fahd Abunnaja from Eastern Region Education Department received a bronze medal at the Olympiad, which brought together 122 students from 24 countries competing in physics, chemistry, and biology.
   This year marks the Kingdom’s ninth participation in the Olympiad, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
   With this latest result, Saudi Arabia's tally in the competition has reached 32 medals: one gold, six silver, and 25 bronze.
   The first edition of the IJSO was held in Indonesia in 2004. It is an annual global competition in the natural sciences for students under 16, aimed at fostering scientific thinking among gifted learners.
