Malaysia Claims 13th Overall Title, Reaffirms Dominance Of World Robot Olympiad

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Malaysia reaffirmed its dominance of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO), winning its 13th overall champion title at the 22nd International Final in Singapore, held from Nov 26 to 28.

Competing against over 1,571 students from 91 countries, the Malaysian contingent, comprising 16 teams of 48 students and 16 mentors, secured an impressive four gold medals, four silver medals and two Awards for Excellence.

The Ministry of Education’s Sports, Co-curricular and Arts Division, deputy director-general, and delegation head, Rizawani Mustafa, said the achievement reflects the Ministry’s firm commitment to strengthening science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

“MOE will continue to drive these high-impact programmes with the support of our strategic partner, Sasbadi Holdings Berhad, for the benefit of Malaysian students,” she said in a statement issued by the company.

Sasbadi Holdings announced that WRO 2025, themed 'The Future of Robots,' will encourage students to design and develop future robotic innovations to tackle real-world challenges.

The students representing the national contingent were selected after winning national-level competitions, including the National Robotics Competition 2025, the MARA RoboChallenge and the Future Engineers Challenge, organised by Sasbadi Holdings in collaboration with MOE and the MARA Secondary Education Division.
