Council of Arab Information Ministers Convenes 55th Session with Saudi Participation

Cairo, November 26, 2025, SPA -- The 55th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers convened today at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, chaired by Syrian Minister of Information Hamza Al-Mustafa, who succeeded Bahraini Minister Ramzan bin Abdullah Al-Noaimi. The session was attended by the Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The Kingdom, which chairs the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, was represented at the opening session by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Media for International Media Relations Khalid Al-Ghamdi. The Kingdom’s delegation to the meeting was led by Permanent Representative to the Arab League Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar.
The Palestinian issue tops the agenda of the ministerial session, alongside discussions on the Arab Media Code of Ethics, developments in the Arab media action plan abroad, and the role of Arab media in combating terrorism. The agenda also includes the Arab media roadmap for sustainable development 2030, the media and information literacy strategy, the environmental media plan, the use of artificial intelligence in Arab media, Arab-Chinese media cooperation, and the “Arab Media Capital” initiative.
The council is expected to approve the new composition of its executive office for the next two years and adopt the draft resolutions presented by the bureau following its meeting yesterday.
