IMCTC Secretary-General Meets Maldives Defense Force Chief

   Malé, November 24, 2025, SPA -- Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi met today with Maldivian Chief of Defense Force Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Hilmy.
   The two sides discussed prospects for partnership that address emerging security challenges in the region and enhance the readiness of Maldivian personnel to benefit from the initiatives and programs implemented by the coalition in the ideological, military, media, and financial fields, supporting the Maldives’ efforts to combat extremism and boost its national security.
   On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Moghedi also met with Director General of the National Counter Terrorism Center in the Maldives Wais Waheed. The discussions addressed the center’s efforts to counter violent extremism and the specialized IMCTC programs being carried out in the Maldives since mid-year. These programs focus on raising ideological awareness, equipping specialists with tools for the early detection of extremist indicators within educational and community institutions, and preparing for upcoming military initiatives scheduled for the coming days.
   During both meetings, the IMCTC secretary-general emphasized the coalition’s commitment to boosting cooperation with the Maldives in all areas related to counter terrorism, enhancing the exchange of expertise, and developing national capabilities to achieve shared objectives and bolster regional security and stability.
