Jordanian Foreign Minister receives Shura Chairman

Amman, Nov. 20 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, met with Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The visit came at the invitation of Faisal Akef Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate.

Al Saleh highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. He noted that this strong relationship is built on positive partnerships and royal support for expanding cooperation in various domains.

The Chairman noted the strong relations between the two kingdoms and that joint royal guidance and ongoing support for coordination have contributed to tangible achievements for both countries. He also noted Jordan’s support of Bahrain and the sustainability of its security and stability.

The two sides highlighted the importance of holding regular consultations on shared Arab issues to coordinate positions and support joint Arab initiatives.

Al Saleh noted Jordan’s efforts, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, in supporting Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian cause, defending the rights of the Palestinian people, and the pivotal role Jordan plays in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, particularly under the Hashemite custodianship of the sacred sites. He emphasised that these efforts are highly appreciated by the Kingdom of Bahrain and contribute to regional security and stability.

Minister Safadi highlighted Jordan’s pride in its historical ties with Bahrain and emphasised that Jordan is keen to strengthen consultation and coordination mechanisms with Bahrain, develop cooperation in developmental and legislative domains, exchange expertise, and unify positions on Arab and regional issues, in a manner that serves the shared interests of the two peoples.
