Shura Chairman meets with Jordanian Senate President

Amman, Nov. 19 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in response to an invitation from Faisal Akef Al Fayez, President of the Jordanian Senate. During the visit, they discussed the longstanding relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Jordan.
Chairman Al Saleh expressed pride in the historical ties and the shared vision between the two countries, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan. He highlighted the expanding partnerships supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince of Jordan, which boost economic development and joint projects.
The discussions covered cooperation in health, culture, education, trade, and tourism, as well as active efforts to implement agreements and memorandums of understanding to create new opportunities.
The Chairman undrescored the potential for economic partnerships and sustainable development while commending Jordan’s regional security role and support for Arab causes. He emphasised the importance of enhanced parliamentary cooperation between the Shura Council and Senate through legislative exchange and joint coordination in Arab and international forums.
On his part, Al Fayez underlined the strong bilateral ties as a model for Arab cooperation, based on shared security and vision, rejecting interference in Bahrain and the Gulf. He warned of regional challenges and called for greater Arab unity and parliamentary collaboration.
The Jordanian Senate expressed pride in its relations with Bahrain’s Shura Council and the commitment of both sides to enhance cooperation and unify positions in parliamentary forums. The Senate president underlined the importance of activating joint agreements and building new investment and trade partnerships.
He also commended the Kingdom’s supportive stance towards Jordan and its backing of the Hashemite custodianship of the holy sites, reiterating Jordan’s rejection of forced displacement of Palestinians and any measures undermining national principles or the Hashemite custodianship.
