Thailand, Cambodia Continue Border Survey

SA KAEO, Nov 20 (TNA) - Thai and Cambodian military officials in Sa Kaeo province continued a joint temporary border demarcation for a second day, using drones and GPS measurements, while Thai troops simultaneously deployed to assist local farmers with their rice harvest near the boundary line.
The demarcation team completed GPS measurements at eight control points and conducted one 800-meter drone flight for aerial photography. However, strong winds grounded early morning drone operations, and work was hampered by dense jungle in a subsequent survey path.

In a civil affairs initiative, soldiers from the Burapha Force helped a farmer harvest her rice field near markers 42 and 43. She expressed deep relief, noting she had been too anxious about safety to enter the area previously.
Lt. Col. Nitithep Baramee, Head of Civil Affairs, said the troop presence provides security and assurance for farmers harvesting in "relatively risky" areas that are clearly Thai territory. The military has assisted 15 households and expects to finish the remaining requests by the end of the month.
He confirmed that there have been no reports of Cambodian obstruction, only observation. -819 (TNA)
