Mushroom Production Goes up in DPRK

 Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Mushroom farms across the DPRK are increasing the production by introducing advanced technology, according to Rodong Sinmun.
The Tanchon City Mushroom Farm newly built a sci-tech learning space and is operating it in conformity with the actual conditions of the unit, thus raising the technical level of its officials and employees.
The Rason Mushroom Farm increased the production capacity of the indoor cultivation ground while readjusting and reinforcing equipment by its own technical forces. At the same time, it produced many earshaped mushrooms without special facilities in fields this year by solving various technical problems and is further developing its cultivation method.
The Koksan County Mushroom Farm established a method of cultivating Pleurotus ostreatus with the fermented substrate by adding rice bran to wheat and barley straws, thus providing a guarantee for lowering the cost and increasing the harvesting rate of mushroom per raw material by more than 50 percent.
The Tokchon City Mushroom Farm and the Samjiyon City Mushroom Farm have built up technical forces and introduced various scientific methods of mushroom cultivation suited to the regional characteristics. -0-
