ASEAN Observers on Site After Border Gunfire

SA KAEO, Nov 14 (TNA) - Vigilance continues on the Thai-Cambodian border near Sa Kaeo province after a cross-border skirmish, which began when Cambodian troops allegedly fired on Thai soldiers two days ago.
The incident on November 12 saw Thai forces of the Burapha Task Force fire back in warning, adhering to rules of engagement to secure the Nong Ya Kaew area.
Forensic police and security units inspected a border bunker at Khok Sung Checkpoint 33, documenting damage and collecting evidence from bullets fired from the Cambodian side.

The ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) also visited the site, documenting damage and urging both nations to maintain calm.
Colonel Chainarong Kasi, Commander of the Aranyaprathet Special Task Force, confirmed the situation was calm overnight but troops remain on high alert 24/7.
While villagers attempt to live normally, they remain wary. For a second day, residents are grazing their cattle within their communities, avoiding border areas restricted by the Burapha Task Force due to safety fears. -819 (TNA)
