Shura Council Chairman highlights Bahrain’s royal approach of dialogue and cooperation for global stability

Manama, Nov. 13 (BNA): Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council and Head of the Kingdom’s Parliamentary Division, emphasised that under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Kingdom of Bahrain remains steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote peace, strengthen international security, and foster regional and global partnerships to achieve lasting stability and prosperity.
Delivering Bahrain’s address at the 19th periodic meeting of the Leaders of Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain and chaired by Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Al Saleh expressed pride in Bahrain’s royal approach that prioritises dialogue and cooperation as strategic paths toward global stability and development.
He highlighted the participation of His Majesty the King in the Sharm El Sheikh Summit for Peace as a reflection of Bahrain’s commitment to the principles of comprehensive and just peace, noting the Kingdom’s diplomatic approach grounded in respect for state sovereignty, the pursuit of political solutions, and the prioritisation of dialogue over conflict.
Al Saleh noted that recent regional developments represent a meaningful step towards restoring stability, underscoring the importance of international resolve in alleviating civilian suffering and laying the foundations for lasting peace and development.
He emphasised that the GCC parliamentary meeting stands as a foundation of joint parliamentary action, reflecting the deep-rooted bonds among GCC states and the commitment of their leaders to advancing cooperation and integration amid rapid regional and global transformations.
The Shura Council Chairman underscored the role of GCC legislative bodies in coordinating positions within regional and international parliamentary forums, advancing parliamentary diplomacy, and complementing official diplomatic efforts to enhance security, stability, and sustainable development.
He further highlighted the importance of strengthening Gulf cooperation in key areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, food and water security, and environmental sustainability, alongside collective efforts to achieve net-zero emissions and safeguard natural resources for future generations.
Al Saleh reiterated Bahrain’s support for GCC initiatives aimed at empowering youth and women, fostering innovation, and promoting humanitarian and volunteer work as essential pillars of social cohesion across the region.
He also commended the efforts of the GCC General Secretariat in advancing parliamentary collaboration and coordination among member states, expressing optimism that the meeting’s outcomes will further strengthen Gulf unity, integration, and prosperity.
