Tourism Minister participates in leaders’ dialogue at TOURISE Summit in Riyadh

Riyadh, Nov. 12 (BNA): Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, took part in a high-level dialogue on sustainable tourism during the TOURISE Summit, held in Riyadh from November 11 to 13.

Organised by the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia in cooperation with the World Economic Forum, the summit brought together ministers, chief executives, and global tourism leaders to discuss the future of the industry and means to strengthen cooperation between governments, the private sector, and civil society.

Al Sairafi underlined the importance of adopting responsible tourism practices that support inclusive and sustainable growth while maintaining a balance between economic, social, and environmental impact. She noted that strong public-private partnerships are essential to turning these principles into tangible results that benefit communities and institutions.

She said Bahrain represents a successful example of implementing such practices through its Tourism Strategy 2022–2026 and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030. The minister added that coordination among government entities and the private sector under the Team Bahrain framework has helped create an integrated tourism environment that enhances visitor experiences and strengthens the sector’s contribution to the national economy.

Al Sairafi cited Bahrain’s tourism projects, including the Hawar Resort managed by Mantis and the Bilaj Al Jazayer development, as examples of cooperation built on trust and shared responsibility. She said these initiatives demonstrate Bahrain’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and the preservation of national heritage, aligning with global efforts to promote a more resilient and responsible tourism sector.
