Foreign Minister receives credentials of UNESCO Representative to GCC and Yemen

Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Salah Khaled, UNESCO Representative to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the Republic of Yemen, Director of UNESCO Doha Office, at the Ministry’s headquarters.

During the meeting, Salah Khaled presented his letter of credentials to the minister.

Dr. Al Zayani congratulated him on his appointment and emphasised Bahrain’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with UNESCO in the fields of culture, education, and science, in support of international efforts to promote sustainable development and protect human heritage.

The UNESCO representative expressed appreciation to the minister for the warm welcome and said he looks forward to enhancing cooperation and coordination between UNESCO and the Kingdom of Bahrain across areas of mutual interest to achieve shared objectives.

Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also attended the meeting.
