Speaker, Shura Chairman receive UAE Federal National Council President

Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of the Shura Council, today (Wednesday) received Saqr Ghobash, President of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and his accompanying delegation upon their arrival in the Kingdom to participate in the 19th periodic meeting of the leaders of Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, hosted by Bahrain from November 11 to 13.    

Al Musallam and Al Saleh highlighted the deep-rooted Bahrain-UAE ties and their continuous development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

The meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening GCC parliamentary coordination and aligning positions on regional and international issues to enhance joint legislative efforts and further the GCC’s progress towards greater integration and sustainable development.

For his part, Ghobash commended the key role of the Bahraini Parliamentary Division in advancing GCC parliamentary cooperation. He added that these meetings offer a valuable opportunity to share perspectives and coordinate legislative efforts that benefit GCC nations and their citizens.
