Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): Shura Council members Nancy Dinah Elly Khedouri and Hala Ramzi Fayez received a delegation of staff members from the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate during their visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Khedouri and Fayez conveyed the greetings of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman, and welcomed the delegation, emphasising the importance of exchange visits to share experiences and strengthen parliamentary cooperation. They commended the efforts of the General Secretariat to develop legislative work and enhance its contribution to national progress.
They reaffirmed the Shura Council’s commitment to building ties with legislative bodies in other countries, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to promote openness and benefit from international expertise in support of national development.
The meeting also discussed the new Law on Regulating the Press and Digital Media, recently ratified by His Majesty the King. The U.S. delegation praised the law as an advanced step that reflects Bahrain’s proactive approach to keeping pace with modern media developments, including the use of artificial intelligence, and noted its role in promoting responsible media practices and supporting national stability.
