Suspect Re-enacts Fatal Robbery in Phuket

PHUKET, Nov 12 (TNA) - Thai police today conducted a crime re-enactment with a 43-year-old suspect accused of the murder and robbery of a local tour guide in Phuket, a major tourist hub.
Jirasek Yodbamrung, who confessed to the crime, was taken by Mueang Phuket Police to three key locations, including the shopping mall where he stalked the victim, Orathai Ayuphong, Vice President of the Andaman Tour Guide Association, before the fatal assault inside her car.
He also showed police where he disposed of his clothes and where he left the body and vehicle to conceal the crime.
Phuket Provincial Police Commander Pol. Maj. Gen. Sinlert Sukhum confirmed that the suspect acted alone, citing financial debt as the sole motive for the robbery and murder.
Investigators recovered some of the victim's belongings after the suspect admitted to choking Orn-A-Thai to death during a struggle inside her car, stealing her gold jewelry and valuables, and selling the gold for 48,420 Baht to pay debts.
