McLaren secures victory at São Paulo Grand Prix

São Paulo, Nov. 9 (BNA): McLaren, owned by Mumtalakat Holding Company, the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, achieved success in the Formula 1 World Championship on Sunday, winning the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos Circuit in São Paulo.

British driver Lando Norris claimed first place, marking his second consecutive victory and seventh of the season.

Starting from pole position, Norris maintained a commanding performance throughout the race, finishing 10.388 seconds ahead of Mercedes driver Kimi Räikkönen, who placed second, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen took third.

Norris, who leads the drivers’ standings, also earned eight points from Saturday’s São Paulo Grand Prix Sprint Race, extending his lead over teammate and closest rival Oscar Piastri.

With these results, McLaren strengthened its hold on the drivers’ championship. Norris now totals 390 points, ahead of Piastri’s 366 points, demonstrating the team’s continued dominance this season.

McLaren had also secured the 2025 Constructors’ Championship for the second consecutive year at the Singapore Grand Prix on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, six races before the season’s conclusion.

These achievements highlight McLaren’s distinction as a premier sports investment for Bahrain and reflect Mumtalakat Holding’s commitment to supporting global sports and enhancing Bahrain’s presence on the international sporting stage.
