HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad visits Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games sports village
Riyadh, Nov. 9 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), visited the sports village for the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games hosted in Riyadh until November 21.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad met with members of the Bahraini delegation and national teams participating in the Games.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad was accompanied by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC, Fajr Jassim, Board Member of the BOC, and several members of the administrative delegation.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed pride in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation in this major Islamic sports event, commending the efforts of the national teams in representing Bahrain in various competitions. His Highness also commended the volleyball team’s outstanding performance against the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing them continued success.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad also encouraged the karate and weightlifting teams to intensify efforts to deliver their best results. His Highness checked on the preparations and the morale of the other Bahraini teams, who are gearing up for their competitions with strong determination to succeed.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad said that this participation continues the support received by Bahraini sports from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the attention of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the SYCS, noting that this support is the greatest motivation for further achievements.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed pride in meeting the athletes at this important event, noting that it gathers top athletes from various friendly countries. His Highness expressed confidence in the national teams' ability to perform well, reflecting the progress of Bahraini sports, and wished all teams success in representing Bahrain with distinction.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad extended appreciation to Saudi Arabia for its hosting and organisation of the Sixth Islamic Solidarity Games, emphasising that the standard of organisation reflects the Saudi Arabia’s leading position in hosting major sports events.
