BSA participates in UAE Space Industry Report launch

Manama, Nov. 9 (BNA): Dr. Mohammed Ebrahim Al Aseeri, CEO of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA), participated in the launch of the report titled "Space Industry in the United Arab Emirates: Current Trends and Perspectives", organised by SpaceTech in Gulf, a company specialising in space-market analytics across the Middle East and North Africa.

The report is a specialised study that provides a comprehensive analysis of the space sector ecosystem in the United Arab Emirates. It highlights the sector’s development by analysing 247 local and international organisations that together form the current landscape of the UAE’s space industry.

It also features 14 exclusive interviews and four expert articles from leading figures in the space sector, making it a valuable reference for understanding both the current and future dynamics of one of the region’s most active space markets.

This participation holds strategic importance for the BSA as part of its efforts to strengthen regional cooperation and exchange expertise. It aligns with the ongoing strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UAE, previously reflected in the joint satellite project "Light-1", launched in 2021.

The initiative also supports the BSA’s objective to enhance the Kingdom’s role as an active partner in the regional and global space industry and to benefit from regional expertise in developing national capabilities.

Dr. Al Aseeri noted that the event supports the strategic objectives of the Bahrain Space Agency for 2024–2028 in several key areas. The first objective is to build strategic partnerships by learning from best practices in public–private collaboration, with the UAE’s experience serving as a leading model. The second focuses on developing national capabilities through successful regional examples of building local competencies, from which Bahrain has already benefited significantly. The third involves enhancing innovation by engaging with the latest trends in emerging space technologies. The fourth aims to contribute to sustainable development by applying space technologies in areas such as environmental monitoring and food security.
