The saffron harvest season has begun in Faruj, North Khorasan Province, with thousands of villagers taking part in picking the flowers. Harvesting is underway across 4,940 hectares of farmland, with this year’s output estimated at around 29 tons worth over 35 trillion rials. Faruj, with 400 hectares under cultivation, leads the province’s eight counties in saffron production.
