AZERTAC hosts event marking Victory Day

On November 7, an event marking the November 8 - Victory Day was held at the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC).

The event commenced with observing a minute of silence to honor the memory of Azerbaijan’s National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the Azerbaijani martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Addressing the event, Vugar Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, highlighted the brilliant victory secured under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, during the 44-day Patriotic War. He noted that the great victory was achieved at the cost of blood shed by the heroic Azerbaijani soldiers. Vugar Aliyev emphasized that by rallying around their leader, the Azerbaijani people had demonstrated their strength and fighting spirit, as well an exemplary unity of Army and people to the whole world.

The AZERTAC Chairman of the Board stressed that Azerbaijan had not only claimed a military victory in the Patriotic war, but had also come out victorious on political, diplomatic and information landscapes.

According to him, during the 44-day Patriotic War, the Azerbaijani President gave over 30 interviews to the foreign media outlets, conveying Azerbaijan’s just position and the causes of war to the international audience, demonstrating his political foresight.

In his remarks, Daghbeyi Ismayilov, AZERTAC Deputy Chairman of the Board, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Media Development Agency, highlighted the professionalism of the Azerbaijani journalists and the prompt delivery of the frontline news to the audience during the 44-day Patriotic War.

Subsequently, the event featured the screening of the “Zirva” (Pinnacle) feature-documentary film produced by the Agency.
