Education Ministry Undersecretary attends UNESCO General Conference in Uzbekistan

Samarkand, Nov. 1 (BNA): Nawal Ibrahim Al Khater, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Education, represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the opening of the 43rd session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), held in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, with the participation of representatives from 194 member states.

The conference, which runs until November 13, aims to discuss future policies and programmes that enhance UNESCO’s role in achieving sustainable development and building knowledge-based societies.

During the opening session, the agenda was adopted, and the president, vice presidents, committee chairpersons, and rapporteurs were elected.
