Korean Pine-Kasanryong-Natural Monument of DPRK

 Pyongyang, October 27 (KCNA) -- Korean pine-Kasanryong is growing in Karim-ri, Hwaphyong County of Jagang Province, the DPRK.
This tree is believed to grow at this site since about 1480.
It is about 30 meters in height, 6.9 meters in girth of root neck and 8 meters in crown width.
The tree breaks into two main branches at the root neck, and their girth are 4.5 meters and 2 meters respectively.
The tree is the largest and oldest one among the pine-nut trees of the country and is of significance in studying the natural history of the Ogasan primeval forest. -0-
