Scam Hub Blasts Impact Thai Border, Driving Exodus

TAK, Oct 27 (TNA) - Powerful explosions from a Myanmar military operation against the cyber-scam hub KK Park in Myawaddy have shaken the Thai border for three days.
The blasts, which targeted the notorious scam zone, sent concrete debris crashing onto homes in Thailand's Tak province.
The crackdown has triggered a mass exodus, with nearly 1,300 suspected scammers and victims fleeing across the Moei River into Thai custody for screening.
The 3rd Army Region Commander, Lt. Gen. Worathep Boonya confirmed Myanmar’s operation which might have caused some public concern is ground-based, not involving drone strikes.
Indian Embassy officials are monitoring the screening to identify and separate human trafficking victims.
In response to the regional crime crisis, Thailand has designated online fraud a "National Agenda."
Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaichanok Chidchob confirmed Thailand is implementing aggressive measures, including cutting border mobile signals and developing real-time financial tracking databases.
He emphasized that signing the UN Convention against Cybercrime underscores Thailand’s commitment to using strong legal and international cooperation to dismantle these networks.
