Bahrain Society in London marks 60th anniversary with annual dinner

London, Oct. 26 (BNA): The Bahrain Society in London, chaired by Heather Harper, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the United Kingdom, held its annual dinner this year to celebrate the society’s 60th anniversary.

The event was attended by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom; Dr. Zubir Ahmed, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the UK’s Department of Health and Social Care; and Sir Liam Fox, Chair of the UK Abraham Accords Group and was the UK's former Secretary of State for Defence.

The dinner was also attended by several ministers, members of the House of Commons and House of Lords from across political parties, senior officials of the British government, business leaders, and members of the society.

Since its establishment in 1965, the Bahrain Society in London has played a key role in supporting bilateral relations and partnerships between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom across various fields. It has also promoted engagement between the peoples of both countries, particularly those who have lived or worked in Bahrain and maintain close personal and professional ties, through organising social events and exchange visits.
