International Federation for Equestrian Sports awards His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Gold Badge of Honour in recognition of his international leadership

Manama, Oct. 25 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, and Commander of the Royal Endurance Team, received the Gold Badge of Honour from the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI) in recognition of His Highness's achievements during his participation in world championships since his first participation in Germany in 2006, and in appreciation of His Highness's outstanding efforts in supporting and developing equestrian sports at the regional and international levels.

 

This came during His Highness's reception, in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, of Ingmar de Vos, President of the FEI.

 

Also present were, His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for the Environment, Deputy Chairman of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club’s High Committee, Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation; Sultan Mohammed Al Yahyai, President of the Regional Group 7 of the International Equestrian Federation, and Faris Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

 

The FEI awarded His Highness the Gold Badge of Honour in accordance with Article 132.2 of its General Regulations, which are based on monitoring the international participations and cumulative achievements of riders and equestrian leaders around the world.

 

His Highness expressed appreciation to the FEI, affirming that receiving the badge confirms the distinguished position that Bahraini equestrian sports has reached thanks to the unlimited support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

The FEI awarding the Gold Badge of Honour to His Highness was based on his impressive record since his first participation in the World Endurance Championships in Germany in 2006, which marked the start of his distinguished career in international equestrianism, and his remarkable accomplishments that raised the Kingdom of Bahrain’s profile on the international stage.

 

For his part, the FEI President expressed thanks and appreciation to His Highness for his pioneering role in the prosperity of equestrian sports, especially endurance sports, which has become a model to be emulated in the Arab world.
