During His Meeting With The Palestinian Ambassador On The Occasion Of The End Of His Tenure In Iraq, Head Of The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Affirmed Iraq's Firm Stance On The Palestinian Issue

Baghdad / NINA /-President of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, head of the Federation of Arab Journalists, Moaid Al-Lami, reaffirmed Iraq’s firm and unwavering stance in support of the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the solidarity of the Iraqi press with the Palestinian people in their struggle against Israeli aggression and violations.

The Iraqi Journalists Syndicate stated in a press release that Al-Lami received the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Iraq, Ahmad Al-Ruwaidi, on Saturday at the Syndicate’s headquarters in Baghdad, on the occasion of the end of his diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, Al-Lami reiterated Iraq’s consistent support for the Palestinian people, noting that the General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab Journalists, during its recent meeting in Laayoune, Morocco, decided to send a delegation to the Gaza Strip to review the tragic humanitarian situation and to urge governments to provide urgent humanitarian aid and ensure it reaches the families of Palestinian journalists, martyrs, and the wounded.

He added that the Federation has also called for the formation of an international fact-finding committee to document the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against journalists and media institutions, and to submit an official complaint to the International Criminal Court to ensure accountability for those responsible, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

For his part, Ambassador Ahmad Al-Ruwaidi expressed his deep appreciation for the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and its honorable stance in supporting the Palestinian cause, stressing that Iraqi media play an active and influential role in the Arab arena in defending Palestine. /End
