President Rashid: Iraq Keen to Broaden Cooperation with Croatia and the EU

Baghdad / NINA /- President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed Iraq’s keenness to expand avenues of cooperation with Croatia and the European Union, stressing the importance of international partnerships in supporting the country’s path toward development and stability.
During his meeting with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Radman in Baghdad, the President stated that Iraq is witnessing “security, political, and social stability,” noting that the country is preparing to hold new parliamentary elections that will further strengthen the democratic process and reinforce the principle of peaceful transfer of power.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Baghdad and Zagreb, particularly in the political, economic, and cultural fields, in a manner that serves the interests of both friendly nations.
The President emphasized the importance of continued communication and exchange of official visits between the two countries, as well as joint efforts to expand investment opportunities and comprehensive development.
For his part, the Croatian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s positions in support of regional and international stability, voicing Zagreb’s desire to develop bilateral cooperation in various areas, particularly investment, energy, education, and cultural exchange./End
