Iraq and Tunisia Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation and Expanding Partnership

Baghdad / NINA /- Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations Mohammed Hussein Mohammed Bahr Al-Uloom received the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to Iraq Chokri Latif at the Ministry’s headquarters to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral ties.
According to a statement from the ministry, the meeting reviewed the growing trajectory of Iraqi–Tunisian relations across multiple fields.
Bahr Al-Uloom highlighted the distinguished nature of relations between Iraq and Tunisia, noting the significant potential to enhance cooperation in the political, economic, cultural, and scientific fields. He emphasized that the recently launched direct flight between Baghdad and Tunis will play a vital role in boosting tourism and exchanges between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Latif reaffirmed his country’s desire to deepen bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of clean energy, education, and tourism, expressing hope for expanding the scope of partnership and joint coordination.
The two sides also discussed regional and international developments and issues of common interest, underscoring their commitment to strengthening consultation and cooperation between Iraq and Tunisia. /End
