Al-Sudani Meets Macron in Sharm El-Sheikh to Discuss Baghdad Conference and Gaza Reconstruction

Baghdad / NINA /- Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al Sudani met with French President Emmanuel Macron in Sharm El-Sheikh on Monday, on the sidelines of the Gaza Summit.

The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen and expand bilateral relations between Iraq and France in various fields, and reviewed preparations for Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.

President Macron affirmed that several leading French companies specializing in energy, infrastructure, defense, and water will participate in the conference, in line with the shared interests of both countries.

The meeting also addressed preparations for Gaza Reconstruction Conference, chaired by France, with both sides underscoring the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, supporting stability and peace in the region, and ensuring urgent humanitarian aid reaches civilians in Gaza.

Prime Minister Al Sudani had arrived in Egypt earlier on Monday, responding to a joint invitation from the United States and Egypt to attend Sharm El-Sheikh Summit on Gaza. /End
