Kyrgyzstan, WB, FDMA discussed emergency prevention and response

Bishkek, Oct. 10, 2025. /Kabar/. Ministry of Emergency Situations discussed prospects for international cooperation in emergency prevention and response.

According to the ministry, Kanat Karybai uulu, Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' International Cooperation Department, held a working meeting with representatives of the World Bank and the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of Japan (FDMA).

The parties discussed promising areas of collaboration, including joint training events, the exchange of best practices, and the implementation of joint projects aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and improving response systems.

Following the meeting, they agreed to consider signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations and the FDMA, which will be important step in strengthening capacity to protect populations and territories from natural and man-made hazards.
