Second Gulf Intellectual Property Conference discusses challenges, opportunities of digital transformation in Bahrain

Manama, Oct. 6 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the second Gulf Intellectual Property Conference, organised by the Bahrain Intellectual Property Society with wide participation from business owners, investors, innovators, and lawyers.

The conference highlighted the latest legal practices and legislation that directly support the innovation system and enhance a sustainable investment climate. It also addressed how strict laws can be transformed into creative ideas and economic assets that are protectable and marketable.

The conference serves as a vital platform for exchanging expertise among legal experts, specialists, and visionaries from across the region to advance intellectual property protection in line with the best international standards.

The conference included three main sessions that explored key topics in intellectual property. The first session focused on the future strategies for intellectual property in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, addressing the intersection of digital transformation and the knowledge economy. The second session examined the legal aspects and digital justice related to intellectual property matters, including protection mechanisms to ensure sustainable investments. The conference concluded with a session discussing the role of intellectual property in supporting economic growth and sustainable development across the GCC countries.

The conference provided a leading professional platform bringing together experts to discuss means to develop a balanced legislative environment that supports Gulf economies and establishes the concepts of digital justice and intellectual property protection in the modern era.

This conference follows the success of the first held by the society in 2023, aimed at enhancing legal and economic dialogue on protecting intellectual property rights and discussing challenges and opportunities related to digital transformation and investment in intangible assets.
