Pakistan National Assembly Speaker departs Bahrain following official visit

Manama, Sep. 24 (BNA): Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, departed the Kingdom of Bahrain following an official parliamentary visit.

 

He was seen off by MP Ahmed Abdulwahid Qarata, Second Deputy Speaker, Head of the Mission of Honour and Chair of the Bahrain-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Committee, MP Hanan Mohamed Fardan, Saqib Rauf, Ambassador of Pakistan to Bahrain, and Mohammed Ibrahim Al Sisi Al Buainain, Secretary General of the Council of Representatives.  

 

During the visit, the delegation was received by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

 

The visit also included meetings with Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, where both sides confirmed the longstanding relations between the Kingdom and Pakistan, marked by progressing cooperation and continued coordination on regional and international issues, under the leadership of His Majesty the King and His Excellency Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan.

 

The Pakistani Speaker also met Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council; Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister; and General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior.

 

A session was also held by the Bahrain-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Committee, during which both sides emphasised support for bilateral relations and agreements. The delegation also visited several cultural and civil institutions in Bahrain and was briefed on the work of the Council of Representatives’ Secretariat-General, particularly in digital and electronic transformation.

 

The Pakistani Speaker commended the Kingdom’s progress in its comprehensive national development, expressing admiration for the Council of Representatives’ initiatives, projects and programmes in support of sustainable development goals and environmental management.
