Effective Method of Saving Concrete Bars Developed in DPRK
Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) -- In recent years, an effective method of saving concrete bars have been introduced into the construction projects, including the building of 50 000 flats in the capital city of Pyongyang, according to Rodong Sinmun.
This method, developed by Pyongyang University of Architecture, is an optimum bar-arrangement method as it ensures the maximum structural safety of the buildings made of reinforced concrete walls in keeping with the specific conditions of the country and saves large quantities of concrete bars.
The university's construction structure research group opened up a prospect of saving concrete bars by 25 to 30 percent as compared with the past.
The innovative method has been introduced into the construction of Hwasong Street as well as Songhwa Street and, as a result, it contributes to saving a lot of manpower and huge quantities of concrete bars.
The introduction of this method made it possible to save over 50 tons of concrete bars in the construction of 35-storeyed apartment house alone. -0-
