"Baghdad Film Industry Days" Kicked Off As Part of Baghdad Film Festival

Dubai / NINA /- “Baghdad Film Industry Days” kicked off in the Iraqi capital as part of the second edition of Baghdad International Film Festival, running from September 17 to 20, 2025.

Wareth Kweish, Director of the event, stressed that it serves as a professional platform within a strategic plan to build a sustainable Iraqi film industry capable of competing regionally and internationally, by linking local projects with opportunities for funding and co-production.

Festival President Dr. Jabbar Joudi noted that more than 460 films from various countries were submitted, in addition to hosting over 30 international media representatives, reflecting the global dimension of the event. He also expressed his gratitude to the supporting institutions, particularly the Ministries of Culture, Youth, and Interior.

For his part, Festival Director Dr. Hikmat Al-Baydani welcomed Arab and Iraqi filmmakers from inside the country and abroad, emphasizing that this edition marks a significant step forward for Iraqi cinema on the international stage. /End
