CBB Governor participates in 85th meeting of GCC Central Bank Governors Committee

Kuwait, Sep. 14 (BNA): Khalid Ibrahim Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), participated in the 85th meeting of the Committee of Central Bank Governors of the GCC and chaired the 64th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Monetary Council, held in the State of Kuwait.
The meeting discussed several topics related to the work of Gulf central banks and highlighted means to enhance cooperation in banking and financial services. It also reviewed recommendations and approved related decisions.
On the sidelines of the meeting, senior officials from the CBB, along with representatives from Bahrain’s financial services sector, participated in the 2nd Annual Conference to Enhance GCC Joint Banking Action, titled "Central Banks in the Age of Artificial Intelligence."
During the conference, policy makers discussed means to ensure financial stability amid increasing global fragmentation and the adoption of artificial intelligence applications in central banks, alongside necessary governance frameworks.
This meeting is part of the regular gatherings of the Committee of Governors, aimed at advancing cooperation and coordination among Gulf central banks to enhance financial and monetary stability and support sustainable economic development in the GCC countries.
